Notice to Depositors of Satabank p.l.c. (In Liquidation)

Subject: Extension of the Controller's Mandate for the Return of Deposits

Important Announcement: This Notice Supersedes All Previous Notices on This Subject

The Controller of Satabank p.l.c. wishes to inform all remaining depositors of a material update to the controlled process for the return of funds.

1. Extension of the Controller's Mandate

The notice published on this website on 19 May 2026, stating that the mandate granted to the Controller in respect of the return of deposits had expired on 15 May 2026, is no longer in force and is hereby withdrawn.

The Controller's mandate in respect of the return of deposits has been extended to 30 September 2026, and the Controller is accordingly again in a position to receive and process claims.

2. Depositors Who May Now Apply

Depositors whose funds held at Satabank p.l.c. do not exceed the aggregate sum of EUR 30,000 (or the equivalent in other currencies), and in respect of whose accounts no legal impediment to payment exists, may apply to the Controller for the return of their funds.

This applies to depositors who have not previously submitted a claim, as well as to those whose claims were not accepted for processing following the earlier expiration of the mandate.

3. Depositors Whose Balances Exceed EUR 30,000

Liabilities owed to depositors holding an aggregate balance exceeding EUR 30,000, and those in respect of which a legal impediment to payment exists regardless of balance, were transferred to the Residual Balances Fund under the Deposit Liability Transfer Instrument issued by the Malta Financial Services Authority on 18 September 2025. Such depositors should contact the Residual Balances Fund Committee at info.rbf@rbf.org.mt. This notice does not affect those claims.

4. Claims Already Submitted

Depositors who have already submitted a claim together with the required documentation need take no further action. The Controller and his team will continue to process, verify and execute those claims through to conclusion.

5. How to Apply

Eligible depositors wishing to apply for the return of their funds should contact the Office of the Controller at:

contact@sata-bank.com

Upon contact, the Controller will provide instructions setting out the application procedure and the documentation required in support of a claim.

Depositors are urged to make contact without delay, as sufficient time must be allowed for the submission and verification of documentation before the mandate expires on 30 September 2026.
